Q:
If you could access a one-use-only time machine, where would you go?
TYLER ENFIELD
I’d visit my very young
self and guide him not
away from his failures but
right into and through
them, to tap the goldmine
in each. Eventually, when
that younger self finally
reaches the point of right
now, when present me is
faced with choosing to go
back in time again, I’d do
it all again. And again.
And again.
SCOTT
CARMICHAEL
I’d phone-booth travel
to the year 1988 to
see the greatest
band of all time:
Wyld Stallyns (don’t
trust me with a time
machine).
LIZZIE DERKSEN
If I were to time travel, I’d transport myself to the 1960s of
Joan Didion's Slouching Towards Bethlehem in the hope that
living through that breakdown of North American culture
would better prepare me to write about this breakdown,
happening right now. But there would be no point if I couldn’t
come back.
