I have lived in Edmonton my whole life (except for a brief year in Calgary back in 1999) — watching five decades of growth. My parents were also born and raised here, both to immigrant parents from Scotland/ Denmark, and Poland. I am a proud U of A grad and I share your dream of living in a great city — and I think Edmonton is already there. I am on Instagram, but by no means am I an influencer. I like to share my love to support local to my friends and family. My husband and I met working at Edmonton’s own Earls when we were in university (he still works for the family) and both support Edmonton and local businesses as much as possible, from eating out at all of the fantastic restaurants, shopping at local businesses, and attending the symphony and exhibits at the AGA
— not to mention special events like Symphony on the Square, Heritage Festival, or to take in some sports - not just the Oilers, but the Edmonton Stingers or Riverhawks as well.
I am a paid subscriber to Edify to continue to support local, and always grab a copy of The Tomato to see what is happening in Edmonton’s food scene. Our grown kids recently moved out on their own and we moved from the suburbs to a warehouse turned condos in Oliver, absolutely LOVE living downtown and are hopeful for the future of Edmonton. Thank you for continuing local journalism in Edmonton.
