If you’ve driven by the corner of 98 Street and 105 Avenue on a weekend morning,
you’ve likely noticed a lineup out the door of Ying Fat Food Products. The draw:
fresh tofu. But this is no grocery store tofu. For over 30 years, the family-owned
grocer and producer has been turning out the soft, nutty staple daily, without
any preservatives, and using flavourful soybeans that you can actually taste. Ying
Fat produces several soy-based products, but if there’s one to try first, make it the
silken tofu. It’s a delicate, creamy all-purpose ingredient perfect for desserts, soups
