Q: What’s the most unintentionally embarrassing outfit
you’ve ever worn — your biggest fashion faux pas?

This might not qualify as a
fashion faux pas exactly, but
I once snapped a photo of my
lower legs — revealing only
bare skin and lavender toenail
polish. The intention was
to make my husband, Don,
envious of my poolside holiday
oasis. Instead, I texted it to my
rabbi, Dan. Oops.

My dog-walking outfits are pulled from the dregs of my
wardrobe: the colder the weather, the more embarrassing
the ensemble. In –30C, I pull my shabbiest sweatsuit over my
rattiest pajamas before stepping into faded snow pants from
junior high that seem to grow with me through the years. In
this get-up, even my dog throws me a judgy side-eye.

When I was younger,
I loved my zip-off
cargo pants. Uh oh,
getting too warm? Zip!
Now they’re shorts.
Cooling down in the
evening? Zip! Now
they’re pants again.
Want snacks? I’ve got
a different one in each
of my pockets. Maybe
they weren’t so bad…
