the Past
Since 1997, the Old Strathcona Antique Mall has drawn
collectors with two floors of vintage furniture, retro toys,
sports memorabilia and the wonderfully odd. This year, it
changed hands to 27-year-old Mykel Lewsaw, who also owns
the Rocky Mountain Antique Mall nearby. An avid collector
since his student days, Lewsaw says, “I like when someone
walks into a shop and says, ‘Wow, I’ve never seen that be-
fore.’” For him, it’s that sense of surprise that keeps him in
