Alberta’s biggest celebration of cats, cat culture and cat people is going live this weekend.
The online edition of the annual Edmonton International Cat Festival will run for seven hours on May 30, starting at 10 a.m. You can join the livestream festival for a day of cat-themed activities, from the comfort of your home (and pawsibly while sitting with your own cat). Virtual attendees can hop back and forth between whichever sessions they like and watch replays of any sessions they missed.
To access the livestream, participants will have to purchase tickets via the Crowdcast event page. The event will offer multiple presentations and workshops, as well as entertainment. The festival will feature workshops like “How-to Home Cat Care” with Pulse Veterinary Specialists & Emergency, “Virtual Cat Yoga” presented by Janelle Snow of Sundog Strength & Soul, and “How to Make Homemade Cat Treats.” Programming also includes live performances by cat-loving musicians Jordan Norman and Megan Evans, Cat Storybook Time by local author Marty Chan, Live Cat and Kitten Cams, and giveaways.
To see the full schedule, you can visit the festival’s website.
All of the festival proceeds will be donated to Little Cats Lost, SCARS Second Chance Animal Rescue and ARTS Senior Animal Rescue.
