This Saturday, Aquarian Renovations invites you to join them for an evening of wine and design. In this virtual lesson, the Edmonton company will teach you the basics of 3D design from the comfort of your home. If you are interested in interior design or architecture, this virtual event is for you. It’s also for anyone who wants to renovate their house, but can’t picture how the finished product will look.
The organizers invite participants to learn the basics of 3D drafting from an experienced architectural designer. You will learn the basics of SketchUp, including how to draw basic 2D shapes, how to turn a 2D shape into a 3D object, and how to move, push, pull, cut, rotate, scale, copy and delete objects. SketchUp is a 3D modeling program that’s known for its user-friendly interface and easy learning curve.
The 90-minute lesson will begin at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. The instructions will be emailed to you 48 hours prior to the lesson. The ticket includes a lesson, a private link to a video recap of the lesson, and a charcuterie board and a bottle of wine provided by The Cave Beastro — which will be dropped off at your doorstep before the class.
To take the class, you need a free Zoom account, and a free SketchUp account (instructions for creating a SketchUp account will be included in the email prior to the lesson). The organizers also recommend turning a webcam on and using a mouse (instead of a trackpad), as well as using your largest computer monitor (or even using two screens, side by side — one for viewing the lesson and the other one for working in SketchUp).
You can buy the tickets through the Facebook event page.
