When the sun goes down, the fear comes out. Ascend upon Gateway Boulevard for an evening of terror provided by not one, but two Deadmonton haunted houses.
“Our main indoor show is Warped, and it’s basically the diabolical minds within Deadmonton industries attempting to warp the fabric of time, space and reality by taking you on a twisted trip down the rabbit hole and into the warped minds of madness,” says Ryan Kozar, owner of Deadmonton Haunted House.
What does that mean exactly? We’re not sure either, but it sounds horrifying. Kozar says guests can expect a variety of settings akin to a traditional haunted house with no set theme. Expect the unexpected and get ready to scream as it takes each group approximately 20 to 35 minutes to make it to the end.
The outdoor haunted house, Dusk — Rise of the Dead, is a New Orleans cemetery-inspired haunted house and opens when the sun goes down. It’s an extended version of last year’s show and includes nighttime creatures that howl and prowl. Dusk takes about 8 to 10 minutes to walk through.
“The drive for me is seeing people come out, having fun, laughing and running and crying and just having a great time,” says Kozar.
Deadmonton Haunted House starts September 24 until November 7. The hours are 7 p.m. to 11:30 p.m on Fridays and Saturdays, and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Sundays and select weekdays.
Tickets can be purchased online or at the door, however, it is recommended to purchase tickets in advance as Deadmonton will be operating at a third of its regular capacity. Masks are mandatory indoors and outdoors.
