Ongoing starting in November
Eight companies, eight productions, eight unique theatre experiences are available through the Edmonton Arts Council starting this month. There are some fantastic shows you can experience with an eight-ticket bundle for Edmonton’s theatre scene.
November 3
Brunch with a Real Housewife at The Banquet with a mimosa bar and trivia. Teresa Giudice is flying in from New Jersey to hang with Edmonton’s reality TV lovers.
November 5
Try all the dumplings from all the places at Dumpling Fest: Japanese gyoza, Mexican empanadas, Nepalese momos, Ukrainian perogies, and others from a selection of local restaurants.
November 7, 9 & 12
They’ll sing in German and speak in English. Witness a re-invented 1872 underground dance party opera with leather, latex and fishnets on stage at the Jubilee with the Edmonton Opera and Edmonton Symphony Orchestra.
November 8 and 9
The Edmonton Convention Centre will host The Rocky Mountain Wine & Food Festival with some of Alberta’s best food and drink to be had.

The Citadel Theatre brings a brand new musical, The Ballad of Johnny and June told from the eyes of the iconic singers’ son. The music and love story has all your favourite hits.
November 11
Attend a solemn ceremony of remembrance for Canada’s fallen soldiers at various locations through the city.
November 13
It’s a cheese-fest at the Sherwood Park location of the Italian Centre Shop, where you can try over 20 types of cheese with food, wine and beer pairings.
November 15 & 16
Capathia Jenkins brings her stunning presence to the Winspear with the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra to sing songs from R&B legends like Whitney Houston and Adele.
November 15-17
Lifestyle, romance, beauty and all things sexy will grace the Edmonton EXPO for the Taboo Show, an upscale adult playground. It’ll have live performances, education, shopping and entertainment.
November 16
Strathcona County’s free family night Celebration of Lights at Festival Place in Sherwood Park opens the holiday season with tons of activities. Its an outdoor event in support of the Food Bank, so wear your cozy winter gear and bring a non-perishable donation.
November 16
Wander Westmount’s favourite annual winter festival on 124th Street at 107th Avenue with live music, hot drinks, roaming artists, photographers and bonfires. What better way to celebrate the coming dark nights?
November 17-18
Zach Bryan is at Rogers Place to celebrate his new album that explores the Grammy-nominated singer’s southern states roots combining a litany of varied musical and literary influences that might be best described as “Zach Bryan music.”

Get ahead on your handmade holiday gifts and take a date or your BFF to a winter-themed Paint Nite, held throughout the month at various locations in Edmonton. Family nights, stay-in events and adult-only nights available.
November 19
He’s still performing in his glory days. Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band will be at Rogers Place with a simple stage set up and all the classics in this three-hour music set described by Rolling Stone as “all joy and catharsis.”

Celebrate our city’s best with Edify magazine’s Top 40 Under 40 celebration to get to know the upcoming leaders of our community.
November 21-24
In a night of nostalgia, all your favourite Disney characters will sing, dance and skate their way through well-loved stories at the Edmonton EXPO Centre Arena. Magic in the Stars is Raya’s on-ice debut with Moana, Woody & Buzz, Mirabel, Elsa and Anna, and Lightning McQueen in this new Disney on Ice show.
Thursdays
The University of Alberta Observatory is open to the public and will be watching the Stars, Planets and Nebulae on Thursday nights. Ask an astrophysicist your biggest questions about the universe and learn about Aurora Borealis from a space scientist. All ages welcome.
November 24
Watch a Master Butcher break down a beef forequarter and understand each cut that you’ll get to taste while they do the hard work. Attendees will receive a take-home bag of beef at L’OCA’s class Beef Butchery 101.

Elk Island Retreat, under the Beaver Hills Dark Sky Preserve, has recently added a Nordic Spa to its amenities amongst the geodomes, yurts, cabins and campsites. Not only is it an excellent location to catch the Northern Lights, it’s only 45 minutes away from the city centre. In Festival Place, the Gregorian choir will perform its Pure Chants show, creating a tranquil and spectacular sound environment for the audience. It’s toured the world and is bringing its best to Canada this season.

The Edmonton Valley Zoo at night is a completely different place. Imaginative light installations and warm drinks will warm up your imagination. Visit Zoominescence any night up until the New Year.
November 30
Visit Leduc’s annual Santa Claus Parade for free photos with Santa, treats and light up wands and then watch the stunning floats and show drive by starting at 6 p.m.
November 30
The Oil Kings will face off against the Prince George Cougars, but this night is to support charities for families dealing with cancer. The United Against Cancer theme night will have special swag and raise money for a great cause.
Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays
The November Project is a group of people who meet in the early mornings three times a week throughout the city to run hills, stairs and exercise together. It started in November 2011 and has been running strong since. Everyone is welcome in the snow, rain, frost or hail and it might be the thing that gets you through this winter. Locations and workouts are constantly updated on the group’s Instagram page.
