Read: Soft as Bones
Chyana Marie Sage’s national-bestselling memoir Soft as Bones poetically examines the legacy of generational abuse and trauma born of Canada’s residential schools and Sixties Scoops programs, which forcedly removed Sage’s paternal grandfather from his family. Her book revisits the painful experience of growing up with a father wounded by ancestral trauma. She weaves her own personal history together with Cree stories, offering readers a unique and impactful story of healing.
Soft as Bones is published by House of Anansi Press Inc. and is available from your local bookseller.

Formed in 2008, Canadian alternative folk rock band The Strumbellas started out small, playing street festivals and farmers markets in Toronto.
They broke onto international charts in 2016 with their song “Spirits” and had continued success, touring internationally. Then, in 2022, the band announced that lead singer Simon Ward would be transitioning away from fronting the band to a more behind-the-scenes-role.
