Ed sets out an afternoon to leisurely explore the 30,000 square feet of lush gardens with a large selection of varying plant stages. The owner and staff are always warm and welcoming, with expansive knowledge on all the plants they carry – definitely worth the drive!

Passionate about all things growing and super friendly, Deb and her staff have lovingly created a living wall among the lush plants and flowers to inspire you to build your own garden oasis. Ed’s particularly fond of the shallow planter sets her daughter has created; all with unique names and designed to impress, these are made for you to take home and transfer into your own planter.

This is a great spot for Ed’s sojourns to the downtown core. Located in the heart of Little Italy, Zocalo is great for picking up funky cut flowers, enjoying an espresso or choosing from the curated selection of plants and flowers for the garden.

When Ed walked in and saw the array of succulents, they felt transported to a new world. The colours, the textures — so exotic. They aren’t pretty in the usual sense, they aren’t flowers, but they are just so… beautiful. Ed wanted to stand there for a long time and just stare.

Ed found this true hidden gem sometime back – it’s a fantastic farm setting with friendly horses, welcoming dogs and the occasional chicken (or rooster). And, with the abundant array of shrubs, trees and perennials — Ed always goes home with more than what they were looking for!

Ed doesn’t mind waiting in some lineups – especially when it’s waiting to get into Greenland. In addition to the wide selection of tropical plants, succulents and seasonal annuals and perennials, the pond is always a highlight of Ed’s visits (which is changed up every year). And don’t miss grabbing a traditional Margherita fire-roasted pizza from Branches on your way out!
