Soju kind of feels like a rooftop patio with its hanging lights, fake exposed brick, and open seating in the main lounge. Each private karaoke booth is adjacent to the main seating area with options for large, medium, and small-sized rooms.
The rooms are all equipped with Korean karaoke machines that have thousands of hit songs from North America, Korea, Japan, and other locales — with lyrics available in their respective languages. Also, as the name would imply, there is plenty of Soju (a popular Korean spirit) and tasty eats on the menu, like Kimchi Udon and Cheese Buldak.

Rosie’s is a great place to end up on a weekend night. In addition to great comfort foods like burgers, pasta, and all-day breakfast, Rosie’s has cultivated one of the best recurring karaoke crowds in town on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights. The decor and the vibes are both retro enough to inspire you to sing some oldies, and the people are friendly enough to cheer you on while you sing your heart out.

The largest private booth at Echo Karaoke can fit up to 20 people, which makes it perfect for when you’ve got a bigger crowd than usual. The pink and blue lighting, dark atmosphere and a couple of Lychee Mojitos might convince you you’ve got your own personal stage, with your friends as your adoring audience.

Think karaoke with a punk rock twist. The crowds at Tavern on Whyte don’t shy away from mohawks, leather jackets and belting out punk rock standards from Antiflag. However, I’ve also seen some of the toughest, angriest-looking guys bring people to tears by singing folk classics like “Landslide” by Fleetwood Mac (I personally prefer the Chicks’ version). Tavern’s karaoke is on every Saturday unless otherwise stated.

Hanjan is a local favourite for Korean cuisine and made our Best Restaurants list in 2018. It had even seen a visit from Marvel star Simu Liu when he was in town to host the Junos. What’s more is that the south location has its own private karaoke booth available for booking, and it comes with access to all the delicious bulgogi and bibimbap that Hanjan is known for.

Rosario’s is Edmonton’s home for karaoke royalty. This is literally the place where the best of the best in town come to duke it out in karaoke competitions. They also boast karaoke every single night of the week, so if you really need to stretch those vocal cords on a Monday or Tuesday night, Rosario’s has got your back.
