Until August 31, Canada Historic Places Day invites you to access and explore all of Canada’s historic places by visiting its website and experiencing history in a new way.
You can time travel by virtually viewing historic places across Canada. More than a dozen sites near Edmonton are waiting to be discovered — find one near you. Every place has a story. Featured local landmarks include Rutherford House Provincial Historic Site and Alberta Aviation Museum in Edmonton, Multicultural Heritage Centre in Stony Plain, and Art Gallery of St. Albert.
The event is organized by the National Trust for Canada, the only national registered charity that has a mission to support Canadian heritage and to inspire Canadians to save places that matter. The organization offers tools to save and renew historic places, and a list of destinations to visit.
