There’s a reason Taste of Edmonton is so popular — each year the event is bigger and better than the last.
Taste of Edmonton returns to Churchill Square with its full-scale festival after last year’s toned down event. Make sure to work up an appetite as there are 52 restaurants, food trucks, beverages, dessert, catering and alcohol including 11 new restaurants and three new food trucks. The 10 day event is run by over 800 volunteers.
“It really feels like everybody has elevated their food game this year and we’re just so proud of everybody that participates in Taste of Edmonton and supporting local,” says Donovan Vienneau, general manager of Events Edmonton and Taste of Edmonton.
Yo Baba, Fantasyland Hotel, Pampa Brazilian Steakhouse and Gia’s Deli and Catering are just a few of the newcomers participating in Taste of Edmonton. The tasty festival has also revamped its structure with the addition of Wheels on 100th, a dedicated food truck street where BF Korean Chicken, Sheeba Indian Street Food and more will be parked.
“We’ve got something for everybody and the pride that these chefs and business owners put into their product, to showcase to 250 to 350,000 Edmontonians is just absolutely endearing,” says Vienneau. “Every single menu item is unique to each respective restaurant and we’ve really tightened up that you’re not going to find similar or duplicated menu items at any other booth except the one that you’re staring at in that moment.”
Each night of Taste of Edmonton has a lineup of performances, 38 out of 40 of which are local. Winnipeg’s Bif Naked, who was supposed to play in the COVID-cancelled 2020 event, is the festival’s main headliner. And the Dueling Pianos will play a show in their own dedicated space in Churchill Square every evening from 7 to 11 p.m., so there’s plenty of entertainment while you feast.
Taste of Edmonton is on in Churchill Square daily until July 31 from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Food tickets are available on site only, and 50/50 tickets are available on site and online.
