Kd lang‘s voice was the backdrop for Alberta Ballet‘s Balletlujah, a story of a country girl who finds heartache and love in the city. And on May 4, lang’s voice also rang out at a private performance where 100 attendees – including members of Alberta Ballet, sponsors and fans – gathered. “To create new art requires an investment. They weren’t just coming to an event; they were making a donation. The event was the icing on the cake,” said Colleen Brennan, co-chair of Balletlujah. The ticket price was $2,500 each, and that money, along with sponsorship, will go towards the making of several future ballets.
