The spirit of giving mingled with the spirit of fashionable fun at the annual Festival of Trees Luncheon and Fashion Show. Held at the Shaw Conference Centre, partygoers were treated to a two-and-a-half hour mix of treats, drinks, food, fashion and an array of silent auction items in support of Edmonton’s only Level 1 trauma centre, located at the University of Alberta Hospital.
The November champagne reception was filled with guests, who socialized along a mock streetscape of Edmonton, while the main event – a fashion show hosted by CTV News meteorologist Josh Classen – showcased collections for all ages and sizes from some of Edmonton’s most popular retailers.
From the champagne served upon entry to the food provided by the conference centre’s catering, guests were swathed in luxury usually reserved for evening outings, including a festive performance from Terrell Edwards and Michelle Rushfeldt. “The event is local in that you are on a street in Edmonton, shopping at places that make a difference. You go support 124th Street and you support Lessard and everything that makes Edmonton great. Because the University Hospital Foundation is a part of Edmonton, we wanted to bring it back full circle.” -Jackie Fetter Kristen Livingstone, Madeline Smith-Ackerl and Andrea Luft “I have a plan, but I’m seeing so much colourful conversation and listening to such lively music that I’m letting the mood kind of take me over and go where it wants to go.”- Giselle Denis
