This Saturday, Habesha African Market will present the BOM YEG, a pop-up style and community-oriented outdoor market featuring local Black-owned businesses, entrepreneurs and creatives. The market will be hosted with social distancing and safety guidelines in effect. The organizers plan to make it a recurring event in the future.
The market will be open to guests starting at 2 p.m. and will run until 6 p.m. There will also be a variety of entertainers and DJs performing on-site.
The organizers are also asking guests to RSVP for free on their Eventbrite page, to receive reminders and potential updates about the event. This will also let the organizers have an estimate of how many people they can expect.
