Forty-six years later and still going strong, the MacEwan University Big Band is set to rock the house (or should we say, your house?) with its upcoming spring concert live-stream.
Featuring the works of names like Maria Schneider, Sammy Nestico and Joni Mitchell — as well as MacEwan alumna Stephanie Uruqhart — the 90-minute live-stream is sure to get you snapping your fingers and tapping your toes, whether you plan to or not.
The MacEwan University Big Band was founded in 1975, and since then it has given students the opportunity to work with musicians like Bob Mintzer, Wayne Bergeron and Dizzy Gillespie. Raymond Baril has been at the helm for the last 36 seasons, during which the band has been featured in local and international festivals.
Get ready to swing, foxtrot, Charleston and Lindy Hop all over your living room from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on April 26! Links to the free live-stream are available on the MacEwan website.
