Ever wondered what spirits haunt the numerous halls of the oldest university in the city? Now is your chance to find out. Get immersed in the haunted history of the University of Alberta’s campus at this tour presented by Edmonton Ghost Tours. The local tour agency will be hosting socially distant tours until the end of August.
Established over a century ago, the University of Alberta has more than its fair share of ghost stories, urban legends, and unexplained events. The tour will explore the history of the university, how it began and the many important historical figures involved.
You will also hear about the university’s many purported ghosts, such as the little boy at The Rutherford House, the scientist who is still seen walking the halls of the Power Plant — and many others. The tours are hosted between Thursday and Saturday, at 7 p.m. The next tours are on July 9, 10, and 11.
Participants are instructed to meet in front of the Rutherford House at 11153 Saskatchewan Drive, at the start of the tour (the tour doesn’t include going inside the Rutherford House, so the organizers are asking participants to wait in the garden or on the sidewalk). Each tour is approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes long.
You can buy tickets for the date of your choosing via the Eventbrite page.
