Order your eggs sunny side up with a bit of sass as dancers from House of Hush Burlesque entertain you during Sunday brunch. The hour-and-a-half-long burlesque show features Scarlett Von Bomb, LeTabby Lexington, Judy Lee and Scarlette Fussion who will take to the stage and mingle with the audience.
Lexington, co-founder of House of Hush Burlesque, started producing Burlesque Brunch shows in Edmonton a few years ago after seeing similar events pop up in cities like Toronto and Vancouver. She’s done different iterations of the show in the past at restaurants like The Almanac, Have Mercy and now Station On Jasper.
“It’s a really good experience. You can bring a date or just a bunch of friends, and we get a lot of people celebrating birthdays and other sorts of events,” says Lexington. “You can get a mimosa, if that’s your thing, or some coffee and have a really decadent, bright, bubbly and fun time, which is a great way to start off your Sunday.”
At the last brunch show, Lexington says she dressed up as a pin-up egg and wore an egg fascinator in her hair.
“Burlesque Brunch gives me the ability to be silly and a little goofy, and just have a really fun time at 11 o’clock in the morning,” says Lexington.
Brunch is served throughout the show and customers can order any items off Station On Jasper’s brunch menu. The cost of food is not included in the ticket price, and the event is age-restricted for guests 18 years of age and older. The party continues after the show with Station On Jasper’s weekly brunch program, Ice Cream Sundays featuring DJ Oddbear with more burlesque performances.
Burlesque Brunch is on April 24 at Station On Jasper, located at 10524 Jasper Ave. Advance tickets are $20 or $30 at the door. Doors open at 11 a.m. and the show begins at 11:30 a.m.
