The St. Albert Readers Festival has events for every reader whether you enjoy fantasy, romance, mystery, or drama. Take part in discussion panels with your favourite authors or discover new ones to add to your reading list during the 15 virtual STARFest events.
“I really wanted to bring in something for everybody and, as a librarian, to acknowledge that there are all different kinds of readers,” says Michelle Steinhusen, interim director of STARFest.
The lineup includes crowd favourites and themed discussions like the Monsters at the Movies discussion on Halloween weekend. Genevieve Graham, Amanda Leduc, Will Ferguson and Andrew Pyper are just a few authors attending this year’s STARFest.
All STARFest events are taking place virtually this year making the events more accessible. Steinhusen also notes that virtual events give STARFest goers the opportunity to attend more events than they would in person.
“People should come to STARFest because they get to see their favourite authors, but also meet new voices and new authors,” says Steinhusen. “Even though it’s going to be online, we’re making it interactive. We’re giving people a chance to comment and ask questions. We’re hoping that it’s going to be a relaxed, accessible experience.”
STARFest is on until November 2 and tickets are available online for $5.
