The Whyte Ave music school is offering virtual music lessons for kids, including Private Music Lessons for children who are over six, and now virtual Rock Bands, as the school is taking its band practices online. The students don’t need to take music classes with Backbeat to join one of the existing bands. Though the program may be called Rock Bands, the participating bands play music in a variety of styles. This includes everything from indie-folk to metal and anything in between. For the youngest ones, those between three to five years old, the school offers Little Beats, which cover rhythm, vocals and theory.
You can find more information or register for classes on the school’s website.
The school currently offers free online 10-week classes, as well as private online classes. Private classes include guitar, piano, violin, singing and more. For free classes, students can choose between Family Music Classes for youth and their parents or Project Vibe Artist Development Classes for teens and adults. The school also promises to host an online recital in June 2020, where students will get a chance to show off their hard work to their friends and families.
