Every year, the Brian Webb Dance Company’s (BWDC) Art Auction generates the income for the dance collective to operate, funding live performances, rehearsals and classes. This year, dance recitals, as well as live crowded events, have been postponed and reimagined, and the 41st annual auction will be no different.
The BWDC lives by the motto, “Art by the community, for the community,” and that spirit is at the heart of the auction. Generous local artists have donated pieces in a variety of mediums and eclectic styles, all dedicated to representing beauty in the communities of Edmonton and the surrounding areas.
The online gallery is up and running until April 25th, waiting for you to take a look. The best thing about a virtual gallery? You can attend in your pyjamas! Make a cup of tea and bid on your favourite piece to hang on that blank space on the wall above your desk.
