Sometimes, I think I can still smell fresh, buttery cinema popcorn. The warmth of it seeps through your fingertips leaving behind a thin film of butter and salt — de-licious.
But since movie theatres are still closed, I guess microwave or stovetop popcorn will have to do. You could always put it in a paper bag that gets greasy inside and out for the experience. For that amazing movie-style homemade popcorn, Ed’s favourite combination is coconut oil, clarified butter and salt.
Although we love books (and are celebrating I Read Canadian Week until February 21st!), we also love movies, for which popcorn is the perfect accompaniment. And did you know the National Film Board of Canada lets you watch Canadian movies and documentaries for free? If you’ve read through your Canadian Reading Week booklist, make yourself some popcorn and find a documentary to watch.
