Join one of the workshops from the Society of Northern Alberta Print Artists (SNAP): The Insta-book Exploration. The workshop tackles texts and images, including book concepts, photo generation, screen printing and more.
“I’m excited to share this part of my practice with people,” says Nicholas Hertz, an emerging artist in residence from the University of Alberta and the instructor of the workshop.
Workshop participants will learn the concepts of image creation and photography using Photoshop and InDesign in the SNAP gallery.
“I hope everybody enjoy[s] themselves and kind of takes something away from it,” Hertz says. “[In] waxing prints [and] photoshop, there are lots of small things that people could take away from it. It’s not the entirety of the course. We are learning some skills that they can apply to their own research.”
Hertz says that all his ideas are very much supported throughout the process of the workshop planning, and that it “is always really nice to share skills and share knowledge.”
The Insta-Book: Exploration in Imagery and Text will take place on four Wednesday nights from May 18-June 8. The sessions go from 6-9 p.m. at 10572 115 St. The course registration and fees are all available online.
