Bridget Ryan and Mike Chalut give a “cheers” to pride
The crowd was festive, fabulous and fun at the Edmonton Pride Kick-off party. The party marked the beginning of the 10-day June festival that celebrated gender and sexual diversity within the capital region.
Held at the Radisson Hotel’s Imperial ballroom, the event began with schmoozing, munching on hors d’oeuvres, photo opportunities (where attendees could pose as the “I” in Pride) and sparkling wine, while taking in the art of featured LGBTQ artist, Evan Westfal. “It’s a real opportunity to showcase members of the LGBTQ community, and their talents,” said Pride’s treasurer Darin Scott. “I think it’s really important to celebrate who we are and not have any fear of it.”
