It’s easy to forget about the lookout near McNally School. Tucked along the edge of the Forest Heights neighbourhood, the benches at Rowland Park Lookout offer a serene spot to take in both the cityscape and the river valley below.
Kendra Connor, executive director of Varscona Theatre, lives in nearby Fulton Place and walks over to enjoy the view from benches perched along the overlook.
“It’s probably the best view of the city and one of the coolest places to watch the weather change,” she says. “It feels like lots of people do the same thing too.”
That shared moment of awe — or, let’s be honest, shared photo op — also fosters connection in an unlikely place. Connor’s advice: soak in the moment.
“It’s very instagrammable,” she says. “But put your phone down and enjoy it.”
