The non-profit helps seniors remain independent in their own homes while ensuring they’re able to get to all the necessary appointments by having volunteer drivers help take them to their destination. Edmonton Immigrant Services Association is always looking for community translators and interpreters for its Language Bank Program. Volunteers in the program help newcomers and refugees with tasks including document translation and on-site interpretation while they’re settling into their new lives.

Pay Vet Bills For An Animal In Need
Did you know that at Zoe’s Animal Rescue Society, you can donate vet care to animals they’re caring for? Pay for a neuter, spay, rabies vaccine or parvovirus treatment for the furry friends who call Zoe’s home until they find their forever families. Zoe’s also has a wish list of items it always needs, including toys and treats.
Find A Good Home For Those Extra Tickets
Sure, you could try to make a few extra bucks selling those tickets you won’t be able to use, but why not donate them to a good cause instead? Boys & Girls Clubs Big Brothers Big Sisters accepts donations of tickets or event passes to give the club’s littles a chance to experience something new, and, for last-minute donations, Kids Up Front Edmonton gives children a chance to try something new in the community.

Nourish The Community At YESS
If you love cooking, give back by spending some time in the kitchen with the chefs preparing meals for the day at Youth Empowerment and Support Services. Volunteers will help prepare a variety of cold items as well as a hot meal for lunch or one of the youth programs. Or, if you’re an organizational fiend, help YESS in its pantry support role, where you’ll sort through the donations that come in.
