For those in self-isolation, or who are a part of the high-risk group, delivery services can be essential, and sometimes the only way to access basic necessities. A group of volunteers in Edmonton are offering to pick up and deliver groceries, medicine and other essentials to those in need, both to provide support for high-risk individuals and to help stop the spread of COVID-19. Currently, most of the volunteers are offering free services, while some are asking for a small fee. If you require assistance or know somebody who does, you can find a volunteer fetcher through Fly and Fetch services, and send a request for assistance.
The Fly and Fetch platform has temporarily switched its services to connect healthy and able individuals with those in need of assistance, offering to collect and deliver supplies during this time of uncertainty and mandatory self-isolation. For updated availability and a list of registered volunteers, you can also check the Fly and Fetch Instagram page.
For those who are doing supply runs and are willing to pick up and deliver items, the service, in turn, invites you to register as a fetcher.
