Caitlin Varrin and Danielle Annicchiarico came together in 2017 to create Lawless Vintage, a resell and styling company that celebrates prairie-style vintage. The best friends share a love for the thrill of the hunt and wrangle up the best of denim, jackets and matching sets. The items never last long you’ll have to act fast if a pair of cowboy boots is uploaded to Lawless Vintage’s website.
The “made” part of their work comes in the styling they do for events and photo shoots, including fashion modeling.
“Western wear is our brand, yet we never really seem to have that much of it because it just comes and goes so quickly,” says Varrin. “It’s so on trend now and everything is western, so we’re like, ‘Well, we kind of grew into that.’”
Varrin and Annicchiarico began thrifting in their teenage years because of the affordability and sustainability. Now, thrifting is a popular hobby which creates challenges for the seller community like inflated prices and low stock, but that doesn’t deter Varrin.
“The climate of thrifting has changed, but I think there’s enough for everybody,” says Varrin. “There’s so much clothing that is out there so it’s always nice when you can save it from a landfill.”
