Since ground was first broken at McKinley Beach, the vision for this growing Kelowna development was a sense of community. It started out with the Hillside, large lots with stunning lake views allowing for custom homes to be built to the specifications of the new resident. A preferred builder team was assembled that shared the vision for the community and offered a diverse range of style and architecture, displaying the height of professionalism and experience.
Once residents began to move into their new homes, that sense of community began to grow.
“The sense of community is very unique in that people have been recreating down here while their homes are being built,” said Andrew Gaucher from G Group, part of the McKinley Beach development team. “We have over a hundred people living on site, they’re frequently inviting the neighbours over for patio parties, going down to the beach, and hiking the trails.”
Now, several years later, there are only 30 hillside lots still available, all registered and ready to build on. In 2018, the development of the Hillside district began. This central hub will feature commercial offerings as well as residential. There are already two distinct offerings for those looking to move to the Okanagan: Mezzo Living is a collection of 14 townhomes featuring walkouts with master bedrooms on the main floor, private balconies, double car garages, and some of the best views in the area. As part of the Hilltown district, Mezzo will have easy access to both the amenities at McKinley Beach, and the commercial offerings of Hilltown. These townhomes are now selling and start at $599,900. Forest Hills is a unique offering of lakeview smart-sized homes, starting at $628,000. The contemporary architecture of these homes coupled with beautiful interiors and access to all the amenities of the area make them irresistible for those moving to the Okanagan valley, looking for their first home, or seeking a place to spend summers on the lake.
Next steps for the development include the vineyard district with a future planned on-site winery, with grapes already having been planted in 2019. Private slips are available at the marina to house all kinds of watercraft, and the trail network is being expanded this year to include beach access so residents can walk or bike straight to the water.
