The founder of the Philippines Art Council, Ida Beltran Lucila, is excited to share her country’s culture with you through an online exhibition.
“It’s a chance to bring people together and provide performance opportunities. [And] at the same time, help the younger generation who are aspiring to be artists,” says Lucila.
Lucila’s collected over 80 stories, visual art, music and crafts that represent Philippine heritage, and turned it into a beautiful exhibition.
With many people on social media recently expressing their thoughts and emotions about Asian hate and racism, Lucila believes sharing this collection helps bridge divides, raise awareness and create a stronger community. She invites people to come to the exhibition and “learn more about [our culture]. Know each other’s stories.”
The Filipino In Me: Insights into Living Heritage will run virtually from June 1 to July 31. Everyone is welcome to attend at no cost.
