Local artists stand outside the offices of the Chinese Journal during a tour of North Chinatown.
Organized by illustrator Emily Chu, the walking tours were part of a series of sketch sessions that invited artists to learn more about Edmonton’s North and South Chinatowns.
“A lot of folks want to learn more about the area and the struggles that it’s facing with the LRT,” Chu says. “I thought it would be very helpful for people to break that barrier and to learn more.
“With understanding and familiarity, hopefully that slowly translates to more engagement and more projects in the area.”
