Hot Housing Market
In the spring of 2021, home prices didn’t cool despite the pandemic. Ipsos completed a survey of Canadians across the country about their feelings on the housing market.
The survey was commissioned for TD, and it found that 43 per cent of Canadian homebuyers think of backyard space as a major consideration when they’re shopping for places to live.
And, 51 per cent of adults under 35 are willing to get into bidding wars — they said they’d go above the asking price when buying a home.
But, in the prairies, 43 per cent of respondents said they’re worried about if they can afford to buy a home or not in the current market. So, while half of our young population admit they’re ready to go all in for a home, nearly half of us are worried that we’re being shut out of the market.
