The foyer of the Royal Alberta Museum filled up quickly. DJ Junior Brown spun beats that wouldn’t be out of place at a busy nightclub for the 250 Edmonton socialites who attended Museum After Dark. Plans for the new downtown museum location were unveiled at the January 24 event, which was the brainchild of BJ Normand, chair of the communications committee on the Friends of the Royal Alberta Museum Society (FRAMS) board.
“We want to capture that trend-setting, social demographic,” said Danielle Thibaudeau, one of the directors of the FRAMS board. “The AGA [Art Gallery of Alberta] had a great idea with its Refinery series, and we want to do something similar here. We want to capture a younger audience and bring them with us to the new museum.”
