Picnics and Pathfinding
Walking aimlessly and chatting until you run out of things to talk about is the best gift you could give your mother. Set out on a morning walk on one of Edmonton’s best hiking trails and maybe bring some snacks along, make it a whole picnic.
Panoramic Pedal
Scooting is not for everyone, but most people have experienced riding a bike at some point in their life. Don’t have a bike? Worry not, there are plenty of places to rent one. Pedal around downtown, explore the river valley, or find a trail based on the level of difficulty.
Collaborative Kitchen
If going out to eat is not part of your Mother’s Day plans, you could choose to stay at home with your favourite cookbook and figure out a recipe together. Or if you would rather have an interactive, guided experience, let Sorrentino’s introduce you to their brunch menu, Donya teach you how to make perogies or join the EPL’s culinary book club.
Axe Your Stress
Meditation is nice and all but have you ever asked your mom if she would love to break something? Like every other mother, there must be some pent-up stress she would love to release. Taking her to the rage room or axe throwing could do the trick.
Find Your Centre
If an intense fitness class is not what you had in store for you and your mom this weekend then maybe yoga could be the perfect fit. There’s no shortage of yoga spots in our city, from Yoga Within, Metta Yoga and Prana Yoga, there is a class for everyone (and every level).
Spa Reset
Your mom deserves a whole day of pampering and what better way than a day at the spa. It is a classic mother’s day gift for a reason. Bliss MediSpa and Spa at Ambleside can help your mom get the reset she needs.
