Months ago, the society, announced an amateur photography competition split into four categories including, of course, the North Saskatchewan River. The event unveiled the winners in each category and auctioned off prints to raise funds for the society.
When chairperson and presidentKaren Percy Lowetook the stage to thank the attendees, she was quick to point to Glenn Isaac, an environmental lawyer andtheNorth Saskatchewan Riverkeeper, for his hard work that brought everyone together. “I had a dream and a goal,” she said, “and he’s following through with it.”
In his role as Riverkeeper, Isaac monitors the river, advocates on behalf of concerned citizens and educates others about the importance of Edmonton’s jewel.
