The lineup at Duchess Bake Shop on October 31, 2017 wasn’t for macarons and croissants like it normally is – people were lined up to get their hands on the just-released-that-day. Duchess Bake Shop Cookbook, an updated version of the 2014 self-published success. Between shoppers eagerly picking up their pre-orders and those flipping through the pages only to quickly convince themselves they needed to buy it, it looked like 2.0 was going to be as popular as the first, which sold over 14,000 copies. While not much has changed from the first edition, save for a beautiful new cover and two additional recipes, this cookbook remains a must-have for every baker and a charming souvenir from a beloved Edmonton institution.
