Semi-weekly Outdoor Saturday Market
Campio Brewing Co. is known for its quaint yet bustling patio in the heart of downtown, but it’s also known for its seasonal markets. The Campio Brewing Summer Market kicked off June 12 and will continue bi-weekly until the end of August.
“It’s kind of like a boutique market,” says Zach Kahler, Campio Market’s founder. “In a sense, you’re getting the full market experience that you would get going to a regular farmers’ market, but obviously on a much smaller scale.”
Kahler, who curates the markets, ensures there’s a diverse range of businesses at each market. Though the lineup changes at each market, there will always be a range of housewares, accessories, ceramics and imported goods.
Another aspect important to Kahler is showcasing businesses that value charity. For example, AllOne Jewelry is a repeat vendor at the Campio Market, and all its proceeds go to charities helping women and children. “Anytime we can tie a charitable aspect in, that is my number one,” says Kahler.
The Campio Brewing markets began shortly before the pandemic in December 2019. Kahler — who owns Alexander and Rose, an antique and mid-century design business — was doing popup events and felt that Campio had the perfect background for a market. When the pandemic hit, Kahler felt it was even more important to give local businesses a platform.
Campio Brewing is family-friendly and offers brunch, lunch and dinner. Contact tracing, temperature checks and sanitization measures are in place for the safety of patrons. Later in the summer, Campio hopes to have live music and DJs at the markets to add to the experience.
“Every time you come to the market, you’ll find new vendors and new businesses you may never have heard of,” says Kahler. “You can have brunch, lunch, and drinks and take in some live music. So, it’s a one-of-a-kind shopping and dining experience for people to do.”
The Campio Summer Market runs every other week at 10257 105 St NW, and entry is free. Catch the market on June 26, July 10, July 24, August 7, and August 21.
