With plenty of extra time in her hands during the COVID lockdown, Kailey Green started to think, maybe it was a sign for her crafty side to shine.
She started simple, with Strawberry Marble Earrings in small batches. After trying some marble palettes in December 2020, Green put up social media pages and a website for her proudly Albertan jewellery business: Evergreenly Handmade.
Although Green has always loved browsing accessories, she admits that “making jewellery is a passion I didn’t even know I had”. Marble palettes were easy to play with for beginners, but Green soon discovered more fun working with transparent crystals, pearls and knit polymer clay.
Jewellery from Evergreenly Handmade reminds me of meadows and summer glow. While Green does her research on current fashion trends, she’d make sure each piece of jewellery looks glowy and fresh in natural light. That means light pastel colours, wavy texture and transparent material.
If you’re not in the mood of picking up a pair of earrings, Evergreenly Handmade also produces hologram stickers and keychains.
“Evergreenly Handmade has been a labour of love, but I’m so grateful that I’m able to do what I enjoy and watch my business grow”, says Green.
