Job Title: Account Director, DDB Canada
Why She’s Top 40: She’s using her skills in marketing to bolster charities across the city.
Alana Williams enjoys working behind the scenes so much that even her rock-star daydreams are about singing backup. As senior account director for DDB Canada, she’s always looking for creative ways to connect her clients with the community, and always ensuring her clients get the credit.
“I have passion to make them look amazing,” she says. “I love getting caught up in that, I love lifting other people up and showcasing them and seeing them shine.”
Her favourite projects are the ones that showcase a company’s personality while having a clever delivery, and Williams’s attention to detail has attracted clients such as EPCOR, the Oilers and the University of Alberta to her team.
Williams takes her sense of encouragement throughout the city, and has dipped her toe in various committees, including Ladies on the Green, artScene, the Edmonton Public Library’s Anthology group and Edmonton’s first TEDx event. She used to believe having one passion project was the key to a fulfilling life, but now she enjoys having the chance to be a part of many different causes. “I think there’s so much worth in that, just being the person that shows up to every meeting. Just coming in and saying ‘What do you need and can I help?'”
