Sixty-four burgers went bun-to bun to see which would come out on top as Edmonton’s favourite. We let you decide and, after eight gruelling rounds of voting, Odd Company Brewing’s OCB Animal Burger was triumphant in claiming the title, defeating Backstairs Burger’s “OG” in the final.
Odd Company Brewing boasts a minimal food menu of six items, but the OCB Animal Burger has clearly made an impression. Does it go well with a pint? Absolutely. For $10, the burger, consisting of two beef patties slathered in special Odd Sauce is practically a steal of a meal. The beef is locally sourced from The Butchery by RGE RD. The burger also comes generously topped with onions, tomatoes and pickles. Make sure you’ve worked up an appetite before trying this burger, as it doesn’t come with a side dish for a reason.
“There are a lot of great burgers in the city and to be mentioned among them is awesome,” says John Toman, a partner in Odd Company Brewing. “Saying which is best is very subjective, but we’ve always thought we had one of the best burgers in the city and I guess others do too.”
Go take a big bite out of this winning burger and stay tuned for Edify’s Burger Guide for the complete list of burgers from the challenge. They’re so good, it would be wrong not to try them all.
Tee Pee Treats’ Bison Bannock Burger and the JackAttack from Joanne’s BBQ House rounded out our final four.
