Edmonton’s distillery scene got a recent boost, as Field Notes copped a couple of awards at the 2024 San Francisco International Spirits Competition.
It’s Sweet Pea, an amaro made from, you guessed it, peas, won a bronze medal. And Field Notes’ Jaya Chai Liqueur won a double gold, given because of its cumulative high score — a 98 out of 100 — from the judges.
“To have the industry look at what we’re doing, taste our products, and say that they are in the top tier of spirits in the world, it is an incredible honour,” said Field Notes co-founder Faaiza Ramji.
To celebrate, here’s how to add a dash of spice to your Old Fashioned. Jaya Chai Liqueur will add the complexity of cardamom, cinnamon and clove to your drink.
