If my Dad stepping out of his comfort zone isn’t a sign of a good restaurant, I don’t know what is. He’s the kind of man who knows what he likes and sticks to it, so watching him try falafel for the first time — and thoroughly enjoy it — is the highlight of our visit to Ali Baba Turkish Grill. Crispy, golden bites paired with creamy hummus? He’s officially a fan.
I stick to a tried-and-true favourite — a Chicken Shawarma Wrap. Juicy, well-seasoned chicken, fresh veggies, and just the right amount of tangy garlic sauce make it a solid choice. The pita is firm in the best way, crispy on the outside while still soft and warm on the inside. Bonus points for the generous portion — half of my wrap is currently sitting in my fridge, ready to save me from the struggle of what to take to work for lunch tomorrow.
The space itself feels like a win. Bright flowers, upbeat music, and plenty of room to breathe make it feel cozy but not cramped. Add in the easy parking and it’s perfect for a no-stress meal with family or friends. The service is top-notch — staff check in regularly, offering thoughtful suggestions and making sure we are happy every step of the way. My dad and I end the meal with Turkish tea, the perfect warm finish to a laid-back, satisfying evening.
Whether you’re trying something new or sticking to your favourites, Ali Baba Turkish Grill is the kind of place you’ll want to keep coming back to again and again.
