Best Things to Eat: Double Vegan from Flat Boy Burgers

Jay Sparrow remembers the peer pressure he encountered when he first heard of Flat Boy Burgers. It was a casual hangout among several bands, where the musicians talked about their favourite road foods and the best take-out they had.

“Suddenly everyone was talking about Flat Boy Burgers, but I hadn’t tried it then, which kind of made me feel left out,” laughs Sparrow. “So I gave it a shot, and it was great!”

In a respectful tone, Sparrow says the burgers from Flat Boy remind him of his favourite fast food chain in the southwestern United States, In-N-Out Burger. Like how he spends many on-the-road lunch breaks with takeouts from In-N-Out, when Sparrow comes back to Edmonton, he’d drive by Saskatchewan Drive for a Double Vegan from Flat Boy Burgers.

“I love how everything on their menu also has a vegan version. And many of the vegan options you can find from chains are just… brutal, but not from Flat Boy Burgers. Their juicy Double Vegan is just top notch.”
