Catching up and spending quality time with friends over a meal is something that Kelly Sysak values highly, and she is hopeful and excited to be able to do so again soon.
A friend brought Sysak to Bündok for the first time, as it was a tried-and-true favourite. Sysak let her friend have complete control over the ordering, but suggested they get the parmesan soup, which her friend had never tried, as an appetizer.
“The parmesan soup arrived, and it just kind of happened that we both simultaneously put the spoon in the soup and then into our mouths… And we both just looked up and locked eyes and our eyes just went wide. It was like we were in a new universe.”
They both ordered a second bowl immediately, and the parmesan soup is often on Sysak’s mind. “We still talk about it,” she says. “We’ll just look at each other and go, ‘The parmesan soup?’ ‘Yeah, I’m thinking about it, too.’”
