Comedian Natasha Myles is alway adventurous with her food, and it’s unlikely she’ll order the same dish multiple times at a restaurant. The exception is La Petite Iza.
“I’ve never had fries as good as this place,” says Myles. “The Steak Frites is a go-to because it’s very French. La Petite Iza is a cool place to explore, but even if you’re exploring, get the fries.
Myles discovered the French bistro during the pandemic and visited after the first wave of restrictions were lifted in 2020. “Then we were kind of bad luck for them because literally the next day restrictions were back on,” says Myles. The same situation happened a year later when McGee visited again.
“We had to go for a third time to break this curse, and it was again, so, so great. And we’ve been out of the restrictions. So, I think we fixed it,” says Myles.
The Steak Frites comes with a 13 oz Alberta AAA ribeye and Pomme de Terre Frites house fries, which are cooked in duck fat. La Petite Iza is located on Eleanor & Laurent’s third floor with an intimate patio with views of downtown. The interior is also elegant with an elaborate painted ceiling.
“La Petite Iza was the only real place that I went during the pandemic, so it has a special spot in my heart.”
