If you had to use one word to sum up Sharlene Rutherford’s appreciation for Vicky’s Bistro, it would have to be adaptability. From its mix of Greek and Western cuisine to warm and attentive service to an upscale-casual atmosphere, the adaptability of this family-run restaurant is a big part of why it tops Rutherford’s list.
“Sherwood Park hasn’t been known as a location for outstanding choice in restaurants, but this location has a great vibe for dressing up and celebrating a big milestone, but cool enough where jeans and a great pair of heels work just fine too,” Rutherford says. “This is [also] a great place to discuss your latest read over wine, olives and feta!”
Located in the up-and-coming Centre in the Park mixed-use space, Vicky’s has also been busy catering the future of Sherwood Park, right in the heart of the hamlet.
“This space is really starting to take on a trendy, urban chic feel surrounded by new shops, adult living spaces, anchored by a new state-of-the art space for the library, galleries, the county office, and of course, Festival Place and beautiful Broadmoor Lake,” Rutherford says.
But despite Vicky’s forward-looking appeal, it’s the restaurant’s time-tested consistency that keeps Rutherford coming back.
“Give me a chilled white wine and a savoury, grilled-to-perfection rack of lamb on the street-front patio and this is my place to chill after a workday,” she says. “Count on Vicky to stop by to ask you how you’ve been and to make sure you’re feeling well-appreciated.”
