I was getting hungry. That meant we only had about 15 minutes to find a place to eat before things got ugly. My partner and I were driving through Beaumont and I had my neck on a swivel in the passenger seat, looking for a place to eat. That’s when I saw it. MYANM’S NOODLE in big block letters, like a sign from the heavens.
Better-rry Burmese
There’s always a moment of apprehension when you pick a new place to eat. As soon as we walked in and saw the picture menu at the front, we knew we were in good hands. The space is spotless, and that’s all thanks to the amazing wife and husband duo, Hram Thulai and Salai Zete (currently the only two employees, the restaurant opened in 2025) who keep both the service and the food incredible.
Myanm’s serves Burmese food and has a huge variety of tasty dishes like pan fried dumplings, udon stir fry and miso ramen. There’s also a gluten-free section on their menu. While Beaumont has many good food offerings, Myanm’s Noodle is one of only three restaurants where you can get your noodle fix, and it’s the only Burmese joint in town.
What we ate
I had my heart set on the Myanm’s Laksa — the restaurant’s most popular dish — but alas, it was sold out, so I ordered the Chicken Udon Noodle Stir Fry while my partner ordered the Ramen Noodle Soup.
The flavours in my stir fry were well balanced and lightly savoury rather than overly salty, the chicken was cooked to perfection and the green onion garnish was fresh and crunchy. Be prepared to take home leftovers. The portions here are beyond generous, and if you find yourself scarfing down what’s left standing at the fridge at midnight, let’s just say you’re not alone.
Feel the welcome
Beyond the great food and inviting atmosphere, I can’t get over how sweet and considerate the owners are. Not only were we given complimentary tea for our first visit, we were waited on like we’d been coming there for years. Thulai went over the entire menu with us because we had no clue what to order, and she told us stories behind each dish — it was truly lovely.
