There’s something special about a table full of delicious dishes from which you can pick and choose. I’d take the endless nibbles of charcuterie boards or the slow, simmering goodness of fondue over a big steak or turkey dinner any day, including traditional holidays.
Dim Sum falls under that category, and Tasty Noodle does Dim Sum right. We went with six dishes, though looking at the surprisingly affordable bill, I wish we’d ordered more. Spring rolls are automatic at any place that has them, and Tasty Noodle’s were sizeable. So were the ginger beef dumplings. I’ve never had noodle-wrapped steamed shrimp before, but it made sense to put them in the barbecue pork noodle soup, and looking back, it was the right call. The pan-fried sticky rice was the stickiest, and the lemon grass chicken skewer was the highlight of the meal (and the closest thing to a main course).
There are set dinners available, but with a Dim Sum menu that’s over 50 items long, plus soups, hot pot and seafood, it’s fun to pick and choose bit-sized bits of deliciousness (my strategy is to get three go-to, three never-tried dishes) and nibble as the meal goes on.
